Why pay the high cost of cable or satellite when you can get it for next to nothing or even free?

When you do the math you see that satellite and cable aren't worth the price you pay.
For instance let's compare prices for cable, satellite, HDRF and streaming services.

I bought a fire stick for all four of my 1080P LED TV's. I don't buy smart TV's anymore because the built in apps cannot be updated by the streaming services. It made more sense to bypass the built in apps using a Fire Stick. Unfortunately for me I was down to one smart TV before I found out I could get my apps working again with a fire stick. Once I connected a fire stick to each TV all I had to do was download all my favorite stations into Hulu and then download the station apps to the home screen on the fire stick that weren't available through Hulu and I am a happy camper.  The best part about streaming TV is I work as a house sitter. I can take my Fire Stick to the customer's house and enjoy my favorite stations and shows anywhere I want. I can stay in a hotel when I travel and take my streaming services with me. The best part, streaming TV is portable. Cable and satellite are not. Streaming let's me watch what I want when I want and I don't have to pay for stations I don't want. Can't say that for cable or satellite.

Flat Screen TV's
If you have flat screen tvs you have plenty of options for saving money on entertainment. When Direct TV accused us of not paying our bill even after we showed proof of payment with the canceled check, they shut off our signal and tried to force us to pay the bill twice.
While my husband was on the phone getting upset with the stubborn bitch on the other end that wouldn't budge or listen to reason, I was buying a roof antenna from Amazon to replace Direct TV.
I found a $40 roof antenna with a 150 mile range. this was the best decision I have made in a while. We took the two satellite dishes off our roof and used the mount on the south facing dish, to wedge a 6 ft pole into it and used that to mount the antenna on. Then we bought 75 ft HD coax cables and wired up four TV's. To make the signals a bit stronger I decided to buy a matching antenna for the north facing mount and split the four tvs between the two antennas to strengthen the signal.

Box TV's.
If you are still using the old school analog box tv's you can still stream everything that's available on the internet to your TV. All you need is this little device. RCA WiFi Streaming Media Player Just click the item name to visit the website and learn more about how this device can save you thousands over the next few years.

Can't Afford all this?
A cable installer told me about a college student who watched a YouTube video on how to build your own antenna. He explained how she was able to build her antenna out of wire and trash. According to him the antenna was strong enough to bring in signals from all over the country.  I assumed this was exaggeration, but who knows. The student might have been studying something that allowed her to build a strong enough antenna to do that. So I looked up the video to see if I could do this too. What I ended up doing was adding 4 ft of copper wire to the antennas I bought which increased reception from 19 channels to 22 channels. Now we can receive 5 Canadian channels, all of the big networks, public television and the sister stations of the major networks Like the CW, Escape, Laff, Grit, etc. So there might be something to the cable guy's claims.
